Live Dealer Baccarat Strategy

There are not many playing strategies that you can adopt when playing live dealer Baccarat, as this game is one on which when playing it your chances of winning are down to luck, and luck alone! However there are a couple of aspects of playing this game that you should make a note of and the first is the winning payouts awarded to you when you have selected the winning hand.

Whilst most online casinos offering the live dealer Baccarat games will offer the industry standard winning payouts, which we will take a look at later, some casinos may have slightly reduced payout odds and as such please make a note of the industry standard winning payouts mentioned in this playing guide and avoid playing at any casino offering live dealer Baccarat whose odds are lower than those listed below, or you will end up playing a higher house edge game.

The stake levels you wager each hand for should always be set at levels that you gaming budget can afford. Some players can get carried away when playing Baccarat more so after a series of winning outcomes, and those players can soon find their bankrolls being decimated when they over stake each hand.

The correct playing strategy of Baccarat in regards to how much you stake on each hand will be around 5 to 10 percentage of your bankroll on each hand dealt out to you. However, you can of course pick your own stake levels depending on the element of risk you are seeking.

Industry Standard Live Dealer Baccarat Payouts

The aim of any single hand of Baccarat you play is for you to correctly predict which of three possible outcomes the game will end in.  There are three outcomes and associated betting options available when playing Baccarat, you can bet that the game will end in a draw, or the Bankers or Players hand will be closest to a value of nine.

If you pick the Bankers hand to win then you are paid out at odds of even money less a five percent commission on the winning payout, choosing the Players hand to win will see a payout of even money being awarded to you if that hand then goes on to win, if you place a bet on the Tied Hand and that is the outcome of the game the payout is 8 to 1.

Be aware the odds can vary from casino to casino, and any sites offering a lower set of payouts or a higher commission rate on the winning Bankers hand in excess of 5% is offering you a poor paying game and that game should be avoided.

Should you place either a Bankers or Players bet and the game end in a tie then the game is classed as a push for those two wagers and your stakes will be returned to you.

Live Dealer Baccarat Card Values

The number of decks of cards found in live Baccarat games can and will vary depending on which casino you are playing at, the most commonly found number of decks in play will either be six of them or eight of them, however irrespective of the number of decks in the shoe all of the playing cards will have the following values: Ace = 1, K, Q, J, 10 = 0, 2-9 cards all have their face values.

The game will start once all players sat around the live dealer table have chosen which hand to bet on, then the dealer will deal out two cards to both the Players and Bankers hand. It should be noted that each of the two cards will be added together once they have both been dealt out and any hand that is worth over 10 in value will have ten subtracted from them so a hand worth for example 14 will be deemed to be a 4 valued hand.

The winning hand will be the one that is closest to a value of 9, however there will be points in time when playing live dealer Baccarat that the dealer will deal out a third card to one hand. The dealer can deal a third card to the Players hand if that hand has a value of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

The Bankers hand will always get dealt a third hand if that hand has an initial value of  0, 1 or 2, the banker will always draw a 3rd card regardless of the value of your 3rd card.  The banker will always stand if the value of the banker’s first two cards is equal to 7.

The dealer will also deal an extra third card to the Bankers hand if the players third card dealt to that hand is valued at three and the Bankers hand has a third card value of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 9. A third card will also be dealt out to the Bakers hand if the Bankers hand has a value of 4 and the Players hand has been dealt a third card and that hand has value of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7.

If the third card dealt out to the Players hand is a 4, 5, 6 or 7 and the Bankers hand is a 5 then a third card will be dealt out to the Bankers hand. If the Bankers first two initial cards have a total of six and the Players third card has a total of 6 or 7 then a third card will be dealt out to the Bankers hand.

You do not really need to learn when the third cards are going to be dealt out to either hand, for the dealer will know instantly and will always make the correct dealing move based on the value of each hand.

Be aware that when playing live dealer Baccarat that you need to place your wager onto the table before the timer reaches zero, if you do not place a wager onto the table before the timer reaches zero you will not be dealt out a hand for that next game played.
