Like any other casino game, roulette requires you to make a bet and wait for the outcome to see if you made the right call.
Every round is divided into a betting round and a gameplay round. Once the betting round is over, the ball is inserted into the roulette wheel.
All you then have to do is wait for it to land on a certain number.
The roulette wheel is one of the most important aspects of roulette, as it’s the main focus of the game’s gameplay.
It features 36 numbers, all painted either red or black. The 37th number is a 0, and it’s a green number.
In the American version of roulette, there are two zero pockets — 0 and 00.
Bets are the essence of all types of roulette, and they come in many different shapes and sizes. They are mainly divided into inside and outside bets.
The inside bets are the wagers on one or more numbers.
The outside bets let you bet on a color, odds/evens, high/low numbers, dozens, and more.
Bets that pay 2:1 give you twice as much in profit if you win them. If you bet $10, you’ll receive $30 if you make the right bet (your $10 back + $20 profit).
There are two 2:1 bets. First, you can bet on one of the three columns, each containing the same number of digits. For example, column 1 always has 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, and 34. If you place a bet on it, and the ball lands on one of those numbers, you win. Column 2 has the following numbers: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35. Finally, the third column has 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36.
Another available 2:1 bet is the popular dozens bet, meaning you can bet on 1 – 12, 13 – 24, or 25 – 36.
Even bets are red/black, high/low, and odd/even. They pay 1:1, meaning you’ll get your bet back + the profit which is precisely the amount of your bet.
If you bet $10 and win an even bet, you’ll receive a $10 profit.
All other bets have longer odds and higher payouts. The highest payout is 35:1, and it’s paid for making a straight-up bet, which means placing chips on a single number.
